A big monitor can change the way you work. It not only gives you a physically larger display, but also boosts the resolution so you can fit more windows onscreen at once.

That means you could keep, say, your browser open on the left side of the screen and your word processor on the right. No more hopping back and forth between them. Once you experience that kind of convenience, you'll never want to go back to a smaller monitor.

For a limited time, Dell Small Business has the ViewSonic VA2431WM 24-inch LCD monitor for $149.99 shipped (plus sales tax in some states). That's after applying coupon code M6CWL?2GHJLX3S at checkout.

Note: That code will expire after a certain number of uses, and I'm afraid there's no way to know the tally. I tried it just now and it worked. YMMV.

The VA2431WM sports a 23.6-inch display with a 1,920 x 1,080-pixel native resolution. That makes it suitable for watching Blu-ray movies if your PC is equipped accordingly, though unfortunately it lacks an HDMI input--meaning you can't just plug in a Blu-ray player or game console.

It does, however, have VGA and DVI inputs, along with built-in speakers. Other key specs include a 5ms response time, an antiglare screen coating, and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio.

Perhaps best of all, the monitor is backed by a three-year warranty.

I'm loving this as either a replacement for a smaller monitor or a second monitor to expand your Windows workspace. And at $150 out the door, it's one of the best deals I've seen on a 24-inch LCD.

Bonus deal: Game time! Greenman Gaming has Batman: Arkham City (PC) for just $19.98. That's the download version of one of the top-rated games of 2011. To get this deal, you'll need a Games for Windows Live account and Greenman's Capsule software to get this deal. (Both are free, but they're hassles.)
