Get a 17-inch Acer laptop for $399.99
The sellout risk is high, and the deal expires at midnight tomorrow (Jan. 14). If you're in the market for a laptop with a mammoth screen, this is the deal to beat.
I love me a good laptop deal, and this one from TigerDirect definitely qualities.
Until midnight tomorrow, Jan. 14, you can get the refurbished Acer Aspire AS7741Z-5731 17.3-inch laptop for $399.99, plus around $9 for shipping. That's after applying coupon code MGU17038 at checkout.
You might expect a fairly no-frills configuration at that price point, but the Aspire is nicely appointed--very nicely indeed.
It starts with a dual-core, 1.86GHz Pentium P6000 processor--no speed demon, mind you, but fast enough for mainstream computing chores.
Other noteworthy specs include 3GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a DVD reader/burner, and a mammoth 17.3-inch LED-backlit screen. (Laptop? This ain't no laptop. It's a desktop replacement.) It's powered by integrated Intel graphics (meh), but delivers an above-average resolution of 1,600 by 900.
Acer also supplies 802.11n Wi-Fi, a Webcam, an HDMI output, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
As expected, the system comes with a 90-day warranty, typical for a refurbished laptop. That's the one and only downside to this system, but I wouldn't let it stop me from ordering. You're looking at some incredible bang for the buck right here.
Consequently, I'll bet you a bag of donuts this sells out today. Grab it while you can!
Bonus deal: Also at TigerDirect, score a suh-weet Gateway FHX2300 23-inch LCD monitor for $139.97. It serves up 1080p, HDMI, built-in speakers, and a 12-month warranty (despite it being a refurb).
