Gateway PCs get into movie business

PC maker Gateway on Tuesday introduced new Digital Film Maker PC bundles designed to provide the hardware and software necessary for consumers to easily create home movies and burn them to a disc. The bundles bring together Gateway's own PCs and digital video editing software from Pinnacle Systems.

A bundle based on Gateway's 700X desktop line starts at $2,599; bundles based on its Gateway 600 XL notebook line start at $2,999. The desktop bundle includes a DVD burner, while the notebook bundle comes with a CD burner, according to Gateway. The PC maker is also offering digital video training classes and, for a limited time, $100 discounts on digital video cameras sold online and at its stores.
