When you play the Game of Thrones, you win, or you die. And then you go back to the start of the level and play again, in a new series of adventure games from the makers of The Walking Dead game.

Developer Telltale Games got in the game with a teaser trailer at the 2013 VGX awards. The music used in the trailer suggests the games of Thrones will be based on the smash hit HBO adaptation of the epic fantasy series, although no storylines or characters were revealed.

Except a raven. Maybe you play as a raven! At last, the chance to see the saga of Westeros from an avian point of view.

So far, there are no details of which platform, but if it's anything like The Walking Dead, new episodes are released for various consoles, PC, and the iPhone.

Telltale is also working on more adaptation action with comic and TV show-based zombie-bashing in The Walking Dead Season Two, gaming gore in sci-fi shooter spin-off Tales from the Borderlands, and the opportunity to find out who's afraid of the big bad wolf in The Wolf Amongst Us, based on the excellent comic book series Fables.

Other games that allow you to start lopping people's heads off in the name of your house sigil include Facebook game Game of Thrones: Ascent and forthcoming MMORPG Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms.

Game of Thrones is the TV adaptation of George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels. The fourth series is set to arrive some time next year. In the meantime it's been frustratingly hard to watch the show so far: only broadcast on Sky Atlantic, it's only just come to Google Play and is also available in HD on Blinkbox -- something which has made it one of the most-pirated shows on TV.
