Thumbs up! Wait, thumbs down! Angela Lansbury won't be Westeros-bound after all.

Disappointment is nothing new to "Game of Thrones" fans. One day, you're bidding farewell to a favorite character (Hodor!), another, you're wondering if a beloved face will ever be seen again. (Syrio!)
So no viewer of the HBO fantasy drama should've been too surprised this latest casting rumor lasted about as long as one of Cersei's friendships. It sounded so promising. Bild, a German website, reported that 90-year-old actress Angela Lansbury, of "Murder, She Wrote" fame, would be joining "Thrones" next season.
It was only ever a rumor, but fans who love the sharp-tongued wit of 78-year-old Diana Rigg as Oleanna Tyrell could already envision the two veteran actresses showing the young ones how it's done.
Sadly, Entertainment Weekly reported Wednesday that the actress' representatives said she won't be joining the show. No further details were given, and Lansbury's agent did not immediately respond to CNET's request for comment.
It's a shame, but maybe it's for the best. With all the torture and death "Game of Thrones" is famous for, did fans of sweet Jessica Fletcher, Lansbury's "Murder, She Wrote" detective, really want her traipsing through Westeros? She's already been turned into a teapot (as the voice of kindly Mrs. Potts in 1991's "Beauty and the Beast"). Who knows what strange suffering she'd have undergone with Cersei running the show?
Best to stay cozy in Cabot Cove -- until the next rumor break.
Star Wars: Episode 9 filming wraps: But where's that title? Director J.J. Abrams says the milestone "feels impossible."
Jeff Bezos just confirmed what we all knew: Nudes are no big deal: Commentary: The Amazon CEO says he's being blackmailed over nudes. But do I want to see tech tycoon dick pics? No thank you, Mr. Pecker.
