The Interactive Digital Software Association, the main trade group for the video game industry, announced Monday that it has changed its name to the Entertainment Software Association. Doug Lowenstein, president of the trade group, said in a statement that the new moniker more clearly describes the organization's scope.

The ESA conducts antipiracy activities, provides legal and political representation for game makers, and produces the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade show.
