Fujitsu making 120GB laptop drive

Fujitsu plans to boost the storage limit for notebook computers with the industry's first 120GB hard drive, the company announced Monday.

Fujitsu plans to boost the storage limit for notebook computers with the industry's first 120GB hard drive, the company announced Monday. The MHV2120AT will be available to laptop manufacturers this May, the company said.

The drive will incorporate new technology to reduce noise and power consumption and make the drive more forgiving of bumps and shocks, the company said. Storage companies have increasingly focused on improving ruggedness and capacity as laptops have come to dominate growth in the PC market.
