Fujitsu gets Nordstrom contract

Fujitsu Transaction Solutions, a division of the Japanese electronics giant, said Monday that it has signed an agreement with Nordstrom under which Fujitsu will replace the point-of-sale (POS) systems at all 132 Nordstrom stores in the United States with its Team POS 2000 systems. Although Fujitsu is not a major brand in the United States when it comes to generic desktops, the company has carved out niche markets; It is one of the larger names in pen-tablets in the commercial market. The TeamPoS 2000, the computer Nordstrom will install, is effectively a Windows 2000 computer specially configured to be used as a kiosk or as a terminal for managing store operations.
