FreshWater extends Web services tool

FreshWater Software on Monday announced an extension to its SiteScope monitoring software. SiteScope tracks the response time of Web site and data center applications. The update is meant to help companies track the performance of Web services and give network administrators detailed information on the source of possible performance bottlenecks. SiteScope does not require that companies install software agents on each machine being monitored.

FreshWater was acquired in May 2001 by testing-tool company Mercury Interactive, which incorporates SiteScope software in its products. Pricing for FreshWater's SiteScope is based on the number of points that are being monitored. It starts at $2,995.
