FreePPP 2.6b2 is now available; Free PPP 2.5v3 problem

a. FreePPP 2.6b2 is now available for testing. It expires June 1st, 1997 and the password for the encrypted archive can be found in the accompanying release notes. It mainly fixes several bugs. (Thanks, Steve Dagley.)

b. On a related note: Mike Engleman writes: "I'm running Mac OS 7.6.1 on a Power Mac 7200/90. Upon installing Free PPP 2.5v3, along with PPP Menu 2.0.2, Netscape began suddenly quitting and giving me Error 1 or Error 3 messages. I ran Norton, I zapped the PRAM and rebuilt the desktop. To no avail. Upon reinstalling FreePPP 2.5v2, and whatever version of PPP Menu comes with it (clean install), my Error 1 and Error 3 shutdowns disappeared."

Update: Tony Yazbeck writes; "When you install FreePPP 2.5v3, it installs an older version of the FreePPP Menu (v 1.5) and if you already have PPP Menu 2.0.2 installed, it is not removed. Hence you wind up with both versions installed. That's what may be causing the errors. You should remove FreePPP 1.5 Menu."
