Four new Samsung Bada phones leaked: Bada the future

We've been teased with an image of four phones sporting Samsung's new Bada operating system, as seen on the imminently-arriving Wave

The Wave was the first handset to be announced with Samsung's new operating system for not-so-smart phones, Bada. With four new Bada phones leaked at a developers' conference in Russia, as reported by PhoneReport.info, the Wave looks like it will be the crest of the Bada swell.

The four phones seem like they'll be cheaper than the Wave, which has a stunning 'Super AMOLED' screen, with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The Wave also has a 1GHz processor, 802.11n Wi-Fi support, and a 5-megapixel camera, so expect to see some of those features culled in the four lower-end Bada phones. Two of the phones appear to have slide-out Qwerty keyboards.

Samsung hopes the Bada operating system will make its feature phones more attractive to developers, with the result that there'll be plenty of apps and games available on handsets that cost less than fancy-pants smart phones. But users aren't likely to see much difference between phones powered by Bada and existing Samsung feature phones, like the Jet and Tocco Ultra, since they'll use the same TouchWiz user interface.

The Samsung Wave comes out this month in the UK. We're waiting for a comment from Samsung about which of the forthcoming Bada phones we can expect to see here.
