Yesterday Adobe has released a new version of Flash for OS X, which is available for download from the Adobe flash player website and addresses recently uncovered security vulnerabilities. These days peoples' experience with the plugin at times seems to be hit-or-miss, but the update may help people who are having problems with current versions of flash (ie, not being able to view AppleByte videos in some situations). At the very least it should fix a few bugs and security or stability issues with the last version.
While recently Apple has released code that allows for GPU-based decoding in Flash player, this update does not include this feature, at least in OS X. Adobe does have a version of their 10.1 player that includes this code (named "Gala") but it is still in development. Nevertheless, there is a version that is available for download from the Adobe Labs website. Keep in mind this is a preview release and may have bugs and stability issues that can be anything from video artifacts and improperly sized content, to crashes and hangs.
