First USA joins Visa password program

First USA, a credit card company owned by Bank One, has signed on to Visa's newly launched security program that validates members' identities through the use of a password. The Verified by Visa service is designed to cut down online credit card fraud. Cardholders with Bank One or First USA cards can register for the service online and will be able shop at participating retailers using the protection. The merchant will complete the transaction only after the customer has keyed in the correct password.
