Whenlast year it was approving the fan-submitted set idea for the geektastic TV sitcom "The Big Bang Theory," fans everywhere yelled "Bazinga!"
Now we're getting a first look at the official set before it hits stores on August 1. (Disclosure: The show "The Big Bang Theory" airs on CBS, CNET's parent company.)
Created by fans Alatariel from Sweden and Glen Bricker from the US, the set includes the seven minifigures of "The Big Bang Theory" characters Leonard, Sheldon, Penny, Howard, Raj, Amy and Bernadette, with various accessories.
Leonard and Sheldon's living room, as seen on the hit TV series, is also part of the official set. The set also comes with a number of geeky home decor elements and accessories like their white board, telescope, and even the usual takeout Chinese food.
"Our professional model designer Steen Sig Andersen and graphic designer Mathew Boyle worked to keep the set design as true as possible to fan builders Alatariel and GlenBricker's original submission, while also working in Lego design DNA and collaborating with our licensing partners," wrote Tim Courtney, Lego community manager.
"Mathew says he had a lot of fun bringing elements like Sheldon's smile, Howard's trademark smirk and Bernadette's scary side to life in the mini figure characters," Courtney added.
The final "Big Bang Theory" set contains 479 Lego pieces and retail price for $60 (about £39, AU$79).
