While actors Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, as well as "X-Files" creator Chris Carter, have been postingon their social-media accounts, fans finally have their first official glimpse of FBI special agents Scully and Mulder from the upcoming .
On Wednesday, the official Fox "X-Files" Twitter account tweeted, "EXCLUSIVE: Your first look at Mulder and Scully!" with an image of actors Duchovny and Anderson sitting in the back of a car.
We're not sure what the two characters are up to in this scene, but Mulder looks rather casually dressed compared with his former FBI partner Scully, who seems to be channeling Anderson's past professional-looking wardrobe from her role as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson in the BBC crime drama "The Fall."
Carter is keeping "The X-Files" plot under wraps, but we also know that in addition to Anderson and Duchovny reprising their roles, other main cast members from the original series are returning. These include William B. Davis as the Smoking Man, Mitch Pileggi as Mulder and Scully's direct supervisor Walter Skinner, and Annabeth Gish as special agent Monica Reyes. The original TV series made its debut in September 1993 on Fox and aired for nine seasons.
"Community" actor Joel McHale will play Tad O'Malley, "the anchor of a popular conservative Internet news network who becomes an unlikely ally for Fox Mulder," according to Deadline.
Fans and bloggers have already leaked photos of "The X-Files" actors filming in Vancouver, but so far the only revelation is that Mulder looks good in dad jeans.
