Firms to share e-business research

Giga Information Group and MarketResearch.com said Friday the companies would share some proprietary online content. According to the terms of the agreement, privately held MarketResearch.com of Rockville, Md., will offer certain e-business reports from Cambridge, Mass.-based Giga on its Web site. Businesses are increasingly turning to alliances and content distribution agreements because traditional exit strategies such as initial public offerings and acquisitions are less attractive given the stock market slump and dim economic prospects. "Strategic alliances are an important part of our expansion strategy and brand-building effort," Robert K. Weiler, Giga's chief executive officer, said in a statement.
