Come vacation time, why not take a ski trip to the Socialization Mountains, or travel endlessly back and forth between Twitch and SkyDoesMinecraft along the YouTube coast of the Procrastination Sea?
Those are just two of the numerous destinations laid out on a stunningly detailed map of the Internet conceived by Slovakian designer Martin Vargic. He says he created the map in three weeks in his spare time, basing the size of the Web sites/countries roughly on traffic data from Alexa and other metrics.
Vargic gave Crave permission to zoom in on the map and present the below gallery of its main regions in detail. He explains that he's divided the map into two distinctive parts:
The eastern continent, "the old world" showcases software companies, gaming companies and some of the more real-life oriented websites; (the) Western part, "the new world" is composed from... social networks, search websites, video websites, blogs, forums and art websites. All major adult-oriented websites, in addition to varioius warez and torrent sites, are located on the southwestern continent of the map.
As if this weren't insanely delicious enough, Vargic says he's working on a new version that will be even more detailed.
