The final trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" opens with Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) saying, "Things are better. The world is better." But the plaintive piano music in the background clues us in that not all is happy-happy in the world of superpowered mutants.
The villain of the piece is Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"), described as "some kind of god." As revealed in an earlier trailer, the supervillain has four "horsemen" in the form of mutants Storm, Magneto, Archangel and Psylocke. All they want is to destroy the world.
The new trailer is heavy on the action and explosions, but the part that will probably get fans the most excited comes at the very end when we get a glimpse of Wolverine's claws extending from his knuckles. It's nice to get confirmation of actor Hugh Jackman's appearance in the film. "Apocalypse" arrives in theaters in the UK on May 19, in Australia on May 26 and the US on May 27.
