Three wireless telephone companies asked the Federal Communications Commission FCC on Thursday to investigate whether bankrupt company NextWave Personal Communications should have been given a wireless telephone license. The three companies asking for the FCC investigation are Alaska Native Wireless, Verizon Wireless and VoiceStream Wireless.
The FCC awarded NextWave the license about a year ago, but it was taken from the company and auctioned off when NextWave filed for bankruptcy. The license was subsequently returned to NextWave after a U.S. Court of Appeals ruling.
