Cheeps! Father's Day is just around the corner, and if you're lucky enough to have a dad, I think I've located a darn near perfect gift.
For a limited time, and while supplies last, you can get the Nomad Wallet for $50.96 shipped when you apply discount code FAMILY15 at checkout. It originally sold for $99.99, but is currently languishing in Nomad's outlet store for $59.95. (By the way, although shipping is free in the U.S., international shipping adds a very reasonable $10 to the price.)
Update: Eagle-eyed reader Curtisntex found the Nomad Wallet at Best Buy for $44.99 shipped, though when you add sales tax into the mix, you get pretty close to Nomad's price.

This will probably come as no surprise, but my big complaint was with the price. I suspected few people would pay $100 for this, which probably explains why it's now a closeout item.
But at $50, now we've got something worth considering. I've continued to use the Nomad Wallet since my review, and although I still find it a little bulky on the outside and cramped on the inside, there have definitely been times when that charger came in handy.
And not just for me. On occasion I'll come to the rescue of someone else who has a dead or near-dead battery and needs a quick charge. Granted, it's a little weird to hand over your wallet, but it's not like I'm giving it out to strangers. And usually it's just for 10 or 15 minutes so they can get the juice they need.
So not only does dad get something practical for himself, he gets to be the rescue guy for others. And all dads love to be the rescue guy.
Alas, this is an iDevice-only product since Nomad never made a microUSB version. But if your dad owns an iPhone, I suspect he'll greatly enjoy this powered wallet. Because, trust me, all dads love powered things.
