Facebook iOS, Android apps now let you share stories with one tap

Facebook has tweaked its mobile apps and Web site with an eye toward sharing.

Released yesterday, FB's latest iOS and Android apps now sport a Share button at the bottom of any post that links to a Web page or other item. Clicking on that button lets you share that post with the entire Facebook public, just your friends, or only certain friend lists.

"You can now use the Share button on News Feed stories from your phone whether you're using the Facebook for Android app, the Facebook for iPhone and iPad app, or the Facebook mobile web site," Facebook said in a post. "This gives people a fast way to share stories with friends from their mobile phones, just as they can from their computers."

Both the iOS and Android versions have received other tweaks.

iOS users can now tag their friends in any post, comment, or photo. They can use use smileys, hearts, and other emoji in their posts.

And those of you who want to change the way posts are sorted can do so by clicking on the icon in the upper left corner to trigger the left sidebar. From there, click on the gear icon next to News Feed, and you can change the sort order between Top Stories and Most Recent.

The iOS app is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Android users will see some improvements in the photo tagging feature and can now create an album from the Photos tab on the Timeline.
