At just under 5.5kg, the Alienware 18 is a big, powerful desktop replacement for gamers.

With a lot of help from Raymond Watkins, technical marketing supervisor at Alienware, and product marketing coordinator Eduardo Goyanes, we took apart the Alienware 18 to look at what's packed into its magnesium alloy frame.

Spec highlights to watch out for include:

  • Fourth-gen Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor

  • Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M GPUs

  • 18.4-inch WLED full-HD display

  • 16GB of DDR3L RAM

  • Two 750GB hard drives, plus 80GB mSATA SSD.
