Storage specialist EMC announced Monday that Gail Deegan, formerly the CFO at textbook publisher Houghton Mifflin, to its board of directors. Deegan, who will sit on the board's audit committee, fills one of two vacant spots on the Hopkinton, Mass-based company. Deegan, 55, serves as the CFO for Houghton Mifflin before the company was purchased by Vivendi.
"Ms. Deegan has built a career on guiding corporate financial policy and accountability to shareholders, a critical asset for any Board in today's environment," Mike Ruettgers, EMC's executive chairman, said in a statement.
