Broadband chipmaker Ellipsis Digital Systems raised $4.3 million from private investors in its first round of funding, the company announced Wednesday. The financing adds to the $3 million the Carlsbad, Calif.-based company raised in its seed round from private investors.
Ellipsis will use the cash to continue developing chips for networking gear and consumer-electronics products that are used in wireless LANs (local area networks). The chips will also conform to networking standards such as 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g.
