Edison's invention becoming out-moded

We may be seeing the beginning of the end for Thomas Edison's incandescent lightbulb. It's served us well, kept us, literally out of the dark.

Today the Province of Ontario, Canada, approved a ban on the incandescent lightbulb. It's the first such ban in North America. of 2010 for banning incandescents. In Ontario they've given themselves until 2012. In both cases it's a move to more energy-efficient lighting sources, especially compact fluorescent.
