Eclipse OKs Wind River's embedded push
Eclipse Foundation OKs Wind River proposal to expand the open-source programming tool project into the domain of embedded computing systems.
The Eclipse Foundation has approved a proposal from Wind River to expand the open-source programming tool project into the domain of embedded computing systems such as network equipment or consumer electronics. Wind River, which sells software for that market and is embracing Linux, proposed the embedded push in March and promised the funding and developer attention necessary for Eclipse to approve it.
The Device Software Development Platform now is a top-level project at Eclipse, the organizations said.
