Internet auction giant eBay will use software from WebMethods for automation of internal business processes, the companies said Tuesday.

The software from Fairfax, Va.-based WebMethods is designed to help manage employees' work by routing job requests related to problems caused by absences. An executive at San Jose, Calif.-based eBay said the company chose the software partly because of its ability to integrate with back-office applications. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
