eBay names Andale "preferred" provider

eBay has named Andale as one of its preferred providers of auction management services, Andale said Thursday. Andale, which has also become a part of eBay's developer program by licensing the company's application programming interface (API), joins AuctionWatch, AuctionWorks and ChannelAdvisor as preferred auction management providers. Andale already offers auction counters on eBay under an exclusive three-year deal with the auction giant. eBay sellers can use the counters, which display the number of visitors to an auction listing, for free. Seperately, Mountain View, Calif.-based Andale announced that it reached cash-flow breakeven in February and March and expects to maintain its positive cash flow going forward. The closely held company did not disclose its revenue or bottom line figures but said that its revenue in 2001 grew by 300 percent over 2000. The company also said that it is adding 1,000 paying customers per week to its service. Andale furloughed 10 of its 60 employees in December to cut expenses; the company has since rehired two of those workers, company representatives said.
