DT, Unisys team on desktop network services
Deutsche Telekom and Unisys enter a partnership agreement to jointly develop and sell desktop network services to their customers.
Under the deal, European telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom said its subsidiary, DeTeCSM, will work with computer services firm Unisys on joint networking projects as well as the joint development of service offerings.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In its part, Deutsche Telekom will provide support for the German national market, including the implementation and management of desktop network services while Blue Bell, Penn.-based Unisys will provide international support for computer services, the two companies said in a statement.
Today's announcement follows a similar pact Unisys announced last week with network equipment maker 3Com. As reported, Unisys and 3Com agreed to jointly sell new services to help build and manage corporate networks. Under the deal, 3Com said its consulting arm will work with Unisys on joint networking projects.
Deutsche Telekom and Unisys said their first joint offering, Global Desktop Services, is a complete suite of network consulting, procurement, installation and integration services, along with maintenance, remote network management, desktop support and help desk services. The new services offering will also provide customers with a single source for their network and desktop support services intended to help customers cut time and costs when it comes to managing their networks.
