Whether you're in Philly or following the Democratic National Convention from home, here are seven apps every DNC-watcher should have on their phone.

The political spotlight shifts to Philadelphia this week for the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
Sen. Bernie Sanders and first lady Michelle Obama gave rousing speeches on the first night of the DNC, which is being held at the Wells Fargo Center, and threw their support behind presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton. The convention is sure to deliver more political pageantry with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton scheduled to speak.
Last week, we offered up apps to help you follow the RNC, but now it's time to cross the aisle. Here are seven apps you should have to stay on top of the DNC.
DNC 2016 [Official]
A must-have for those following the action in Philly, the official app for the 2016 Democratic National Convention features videos, speeches and photos from the convention as well as a 360-degree live stream. It also includes maps of convention venues, Philadelphia watch parties and where to find each of the 57 Donkeys Around Town art exhibit. Hillary 2016
Turn your political engagement into a game. This app from the Hillary for America campaign tests your knowledge about the pressing issues, offers daily challenges to help elect Clinton, shares news and information about the Democratic candidate and gives you the ability to set up your own virtual campaign headquarters. You can also win rewards, like an autographed souvenir from Hillary. It's available for Apple devices in the App Store. (Free)
News aggregator: Apple News, Google Play Newsstand, Flipboard
If you want to stay on top of the DNC's latest, you'll need an app that gathers news from around the web and assembles it into a single, easy-to-scan feed. Apple News, Google Play Newsstand and Flipboard are three popular options. The apps let you search for specific topics, like Hillary Clinton, or broad categories, like politics. You can also highlight favorite sources, everything from The Washington Post to NPR. It can take some time and effort to get things set up the way you want, but Apple News and Flipboard promise to fine-tune the selection of stories based on what you read and share. (Free)
PolitiFact
Now that you're caught up on the latest political utterances, use the PolitiFact app to "find out who's telling the truth and who's stretching it." PolitiFact, run by the Tampa Bay Times, fact-checks comments made by politicians and rates their accuracy. The app features PolitiFact's "Truth-O-Meter" ratings, as well as report cards on politicians, political groups and pundits. It's available for iOS and Android. (Free)
Instagram
Still haven't downloaded Instagram? Now's the time to give in. The social photo-sharing app, which is owned by Facebook, is sure to be overflowing with pics from people attending the Democratic National Convention. Clinton's campaign has an account and is already offering up some good on-the-ground shots. Other Dem notables you can catch up with on the app include Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, VP candidate Tim Kaine and, of course, Michelle Obama. Instagram is available in the Google Play store and in the Apple App Store. (Free)
