Is your home or office a wasteland of littered computer carcasses? Have you been meaning to donate your aging hardware to a worthy cause or even the tip, but just never gotten around to it?

Well, if you live in NSW, this weekend is your chance to ditch your box for nix and score a discount on new products into the bargain.

HP has hooked up with retailer Domayne and Planet Ark to offer a recycling program on July 8-9. Customers who visit one of 10 participating stores in NSW and dump their tech goods (including computers and peripheral devices such as printers and scanners) for recycling will receive a 25 percent discount on HP imaging and printing hardware and a 10 percent discount on HP/Compaq desktop and notebook PCs.

If you're considering bundling up your Commodore 64 and bidding it a final -- no doubt emotional -- farewell, the stores you can take it to for recycling are:

  • Alexandria
  • Auburn
  • Caringbah
  • Campbelltown
  • Gosford
  • Kotara
  • Liverpool
  • North Ryde
  • Penrith
  • Warrawong
