Disney's gamer-loving 'Wreck-It Ralph 2' comes to theaters in 2018

Too bad the dry, lengthy announcement on Facebook Live almost wrecked it for us.

Great news, fans of awesome movies! Actor John C. Reilly returns to the animated screen on March 9, 2018, as Wreck-It Ralph in Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph 2."

Unfortunately, the plodding announcement that Disney made on Thursday through Facebook Live video nearly quashed the excitement as hard as Ralph himself smashes bricks in the original arcade-themed film. The first movie, which was released in November 2012, pulled us into a world of gaming genres as the lovable Ralph's well-meaning exploits threatened to pull the plug on his entire arcade world.

Here's hoping that Ralph can fix what he inevitably demolishes, with or without the help of nice-guy Fix-It Felix and poor, misunderstood Vanellope von Schweetz.

Original "Ralph" director Rich Moore will co-direct the sequel.
