Digital Creations renamed after product

Digital Creations has renamed itself after its product, Zope, an open-source application server that competes with software from larger competitors such as BEA Systems, Sun Microsystems and IBM. Application servers, which handle tasks such as e-commerce shopping carts, are used by companies that need an Internet interface between network users and back-end servers. The name change was intended to make sure people more closely associate the Zope software with the company that backs it, the company said. Also this week, the company released the new version 2.4 of the software, with updated support for the newest version of the Python programming language.
