Samsung's H8000 curved LED TV. Samsung

Dick Smith has cut the price on a number of flagship TVs from Samsung, taking AU$1,400 off the price of the brand's 65-inch curved LED model.

The Samsung 65-inch UA65H8000 Full HD Smart 3D LED TV is now on sale at Dick Smith's online store for AU$3,399, down from AU$4,799, while the smaller 55-inch curved UA55H8000 Full HD LED TV is down $1,000 to AU$2,099.

As well as the price reductions on the curved models (a deal that's running until the end of September), Dick Smith is also cutting prices on a number of other Samsung flat panels, including Ultra HD models.

Samsung has really hitched its wagon to the curved phenomenon, with the brand early to the market with curved OLED designs that first hit Australian retail stores in August 2013 off the back of international exposure at CES earlier in the year.

But it's not just TVs that are getting the curved treatment. The Korean brand showed off a number of curved products at IFA in Berlin last week, including the HW-H7500 Curved Soundbar (to match your curved TV of course), and the Galaxy Note Edge smartphone which features a curved screen that extends around the right edge of the device.
