As part of this morning's presentation on Microsoft's Net strategy, Microsoft's vice president of platforms, Paul Maritz, showed off a prototype device developed with NEC Corporation that would enable users to receive both television and Web content.

Maritz demonstrated the device to show off the possibilities of interactive programming once broadband data networks become ubiquitous. During the brief demonstration, Maritz used a remote-control device to switch between TV channels and Web content.
