Dell Streak 7 to hit T-Mobile Wednesday for $200

Carrier announces that the 7-inch Android device will be available on Wednesday for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The Dell Streak 7 is on its way to T-Mobile store shelves.

Starting on Wednesday, T-Mobile customers will be able to get their hands on the 7-inch tablet for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract, the carrier announced on its Twitter account today. The tablet, which is available exclusively on T-Mobile's network, will connect to the company's 4G network.

Dell dished details on the Streak 7 at CES earlier this month. The 7-inch tablet runs Android 2.2 and comes with the dual-core 1GHz Tegra T2 processor. It has a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Streak 7 also includes support for T-Mobile TV, allowing customers to watch live news and other television shows from the device. It's the follow-up to the Dell Streak, a 5-inch tablet Dell released last year.

Dell's Streak 7 is one of many Android-based tablets expected to hit store shelves this year. And along the way, those products might take an even bigger bite out of Apple's tablet market share.

In a report released today, market-research firm Strategy Analytics revealed that between the third quarter and fourth quarter of 2010, iPad market share declined from 95.5 percent to 75.3 percent. Android market share, on the other hand, increased from 2.3 percent in the third quarter to 21.6 percent in the fourth quarter.
