Dell revamps exec titles

Dell Computer has changed the titles of two executives. Kevin Rollins and James Vanderslice will now share the titles of president and chief operating officer, which replace their previous designations as vice chairmen. Neither the president nor COO title had been used recently at the company. Rollins and Vanderslice will continue to report to Michael Dell, who remains chairman and CEO. The chief operating officers are accountable for Dell's strategy development and day-to-day operations.
