Dell halted shipments of itsfor several days, the company said Thursday, as it resumed. The shipment hold allowed the PC maker to make a change in the way it manufactures the computer, a Dell representative said. Dell regularly reviews its manufacturing procedures and alters them to improve its products' quality, according to the representative.
Following the manufacturing hold, the lead time on a Dimension XPS is about 10 days, the spokesman said. Dell is working to reduce that time to the standard period--of between three and five days--as soon as possible, the representative said.
