EFI has now released a CUPS filter fix that should resolve an issue where users are unable to print to some RIP set-ups after updating to QuarkXpress 7.0.x.

We previously reported on an issue where users are unable to print to some RIP set-ups after updating to QuarkXpress 7.0.x. In some cases, the workaround was to configure the desired RIP as a "Generic" device in Printer Setup Utility. This can be accomplished by opening Printer Setup Utility and clicking on the appropriate device, then "Add," and selecting "Generic" for the device driver.

EFI has now released a CUPS filter fix that should resolve this issues.

THe ReadMe file for the update states:

"(This update) is for customers using QuarkXPress 7.01 or later on Apple OSX systems experiencing issues when sending print jobs to the Fiery server."

The fix is available as a 1.3 MB standalone download.
