MacDonald, who joins CSC as a partner, has more than 20 years of experience in software and network development, the company said.
As CIO of State Street, MacDonald was responsible for corporate technology strategy and planning, global architecture, and software and network development.
At CSC, MacDonald will oversee development of Web-based services for financial clients, which include more than 1,000 banks, insurers, investment firms, consumer finance companies, and financial services organizations.
The El Segundo, California-based company said it serves 70 percent of the top 50 U.S. banks and insurers.
