Computer Sciences won a services contract with the U.S. Army worth up to $70 million to provide the Department of Defense with an acquisitions and logistics support system. Under the three-year contract, called the Defense Acquisition and Logistics Information Management System (DALIMS), CSC also intends to implement the joint system at approximately 47 U.S. Army and Air Force sites. In addition, CSC will upgrade the systems at sites where the company has already installed it.
The contract calls for CSC to provide commercial hardware and software, system integration services, and support in running and maintaining the software system. About 100 people from CSC's defense group will conduct the work for the contract. CSC is teaming with computing giants Compaq Computer and Hewlett-Packard on the project as well as Integration Technologies Group, which is providing the warranty maintenance services to the sites.
