Guten morgen, unser Crave liebchen. We come to you today with glad tidings of changes we've made to photo galleries on the site. While you all 'ooh' and 'aah' in amazement, let us explain what's changed.

Remember the bad old days when you were reading articles like this one, and this one? Well, you had to click thumbnails underneath the main image to move through the gallery, and you told us you didn't like that so much.

So we've changed it. We've reduced the size of the navigation thumbnails and moved them above the main picture, so no matter how tall the image is, the nav doesn't move around the page. On the right is an example of what we're talking about. It's just an image, so it doesn't do anything if you click it, but we're sure you get the idea.

We also now have the ability to highlight important stories in our hot topics pages, such as the ones with all our Windows 7 coverage, iPhone 3GS stories and Palm Pre content.

We hope you like the changes -- please do let us know what you think in the comments below. This is just the latest in our quest to improve the site based on your feedback, and soon, we'll have a much-improved site search for you to use. We'll let you know more when it's all ready.
