Covisint taps MatrixOne for software

Covisint, the online auto-industry exchange, on Wednesday revved up its collaboration e-commerce portfolio as part of a deal with business-to-business software maker MatrixOne. The online marketplace, launched by Big Three automakers Ford Motor, General Motors and DaimlerChrysler in February 2000, has selected Westford, Mass.-based MatrixOne to enhance its collaboration product line--the Covisint Virtual Project WorkSpace--which allows customers to manage projects over the Internet in a private and secure environment. By adding MatrixOne's software, Covisint is aiming to let its customers manage their documents, workflow, interenterprise bidding and routing processes, as well as provide access to private and public marketplaces over the Web.
