Connect is launching a set of Java components that bring a building-block approach to Web application development.

The Widgets Pro collection of pre-built Java components includes list boxes, scrolling panels, a calendar component, grid controls, and other components that can be dropped into Java applications.

The components, similar to Microsoft's ActiveX controls, save development time and effort because developers don't have to write code from scratch for every application function.

Widget Pro costs $399.95 and will ship next month.
