Technology services provider Computer Sciences said Friday that it has signed an interim agreement with chemical giant DuPont to extend an existing 10-year outsourcing contract that's set to end in May 2007. The extension, for which a final agreement is expected by the fourth quarter of 2005, is worth about $1.9 billion over its term of seven years and seven months beyond the end of the current agreement.

El Segundo, Calif.-based Computer Sciences operates DuPont's global IS and IT infrastructure and provides applications services in more than 40 countries. The new agreement focuses on the company maintaining existing services and providing desktop support in Latin America, including countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.
