Compaq speaks Spanish

Compaq Computer has begun selling a Spanish-language Presario 5000T desktop computer in the United States. The $749 machines includes an Intel Celeron 800MHz processor, 64MB of SDRAM, 20GB hard drive, 48X CD ROM and several features for Spanish speakers. These include a toll-free number with automated menus in Spanish; bilingual sales representatives and customer service representatives; specific links in Spanish on Compaq's Web site; a Spanish version of Microsoft Windows Me and the Microsoft Home Suite, which has software such as MS Works 2000, the Encarta encyclopedia and MS Money 2000. In addition, the keyboard features Spanish characters.
