Comcast working on Mac support for "Home Networking" initiative

CNET staff

We previously reported that Comcast's new "Home Networking" service add-on - which simply allows users to share the company's high-speed cable Internet connection, printers and other devices, and provide other functionality - was labeled by the company as not Macintosh compatible.

We've now received word from the company's technical support department indicating that official support is forthcoming.

Comcast representative Dana Ryan told MacFixIt "We are writing to let you know that Comcast is in the process of rolling out Mac/Apple support nationwide for our Home Networking platform.  Mac/Apple users can contact their local Comcast cable system for more details on support and current availability. Unfortunately, this information was not updated in the FAQs section of our Home Networking Web site - we apologize for any confusion but appreciate the interest in Comcast."
