Football season got off to an early start in the video game industry, with the PlayStation 2 version of Electronic Arts' "NCAA Football 2003" ranking as the top-selling game in July, according to research firm NPDFunworld. PS2 games accounted for 10 of the Top 20 games, with Sony's older PlayStation One responsible for three titles, Microsoft's Xbox for two, Nintendo's GameCube for one and Nintendo's handheld Game Boy accounting for the four remaining games.
New entries in the Top 20 included Infogrames' PS2 driving game "Stuntman" at No. 4 and Midway's "ML Slugfest 2003" baseball game for the PS2 at No. 6.
