Clear Channel Communications has struck an exclusive deal to use Google's search engine on its radio station Web sites, according to an internal memo obtained by Reuters. Beginning this month, Clear Channel's 7 million radio listeners who visit Clear Channel Web sites will be able to make Google searches directly from the sites, the Clear Channel memo to its staff said. The San Antonio-based radio conglomerate declined comment.
Clear Channel is also deploying Google's paid search service that serves up advertising based on search terms. In the near future, Clear Channel also plans to display sponsored links from Google that will appear at the bottom of news articles across Clear Channel's sites.
