Cisco grants stock options

Cisco Systems granted another 75 million stock options to its employees, according the company's filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. The option grants carry an exercise price of $13.04, the going market rate when Cisco's compensation committee for the board of directors approved the increase. The networking giant indicated it will notify the public only when it distributes companywide, merit-based stock-option grants from its available pool.

Cisco's stock rose 1.8 percent to $13.27 in Friday midday trading on the Nasdaq.
